Beaches

If you wish to pay by check or cash, please complete the registration process online and then go to the Town Clerk’s office at Tiverton Town Hall (343 Highland Road, Tiverton RI).

Season passes will be available for pick up at Grinnell's Beach starting on May 18th, 2024.

If you've purchased a resident pass, please bring proof of ID or residency along with the vehicle the sticker is associated with.  Resident Parking Sticker Guidelines are available here.

2024 Parking Fees

SEASON PASSES
Tiverton Residents

  • Car/Motorcycle/Trailer*: $10

  • R/V (Fogland Beach only)^: $35

  • Veterans or Active Duty: Free pass
     

Notes: 

  • Each resident season pass includes one (1) roll of town trash bags.

  • Trailers* require a pass in addition to the one used by the vehicle.

  • Free season beach pass to residents who qualify for the free PAYT program.

 

Non-Tiverton Residents 

This includes other RI residents and non-RI residents.

  • Cars/Motorcycles: $150.00

  • Senior Citizen (62+) Car/Motorcycle: $50.00

  • R/V (Fogland beach only): $300.00

  • Trailer*: $100

DAY PASSES

Non-Tiverton Residents (Day Passes)
This includes other RI residents and non-RI residents.

  • Cars/Motorcycles

    • Weekday - $10

    • - Weekend & Holidays -  $20
       

Day passes for cars/motorcycles may only be purchased via the ParkMobile App (info below). Cash will not be accepted.

  • R/V (Fogland beach only)^ 

    • Weekday - $15

    • Weekend & Holidays - $35

*A trailer is any non-automotive vehicle designed to be hauled by road.

^R/V spots must be reserved ahead of time and are limited.

Beach Rules

  • Dogs are NOT allowed on beaches during beach season. Dogs are allowed during off-season and in off-beach areas, but should be leashed.

  • Open fires are NOT allowed.

  • Persons using Tiverton beaches, or bathing, do so at their own risk.

  • No alcohol, glass containers, jet skis, boats, swimming during electrical storms, or boisterous play are permitted.

  • Surfboards and flotation devices are not allowed in roped off areas.

Facility Descriptions

Grinnell's Beach

  • Gate opens at 9 AM, closes at 10 PM.

  • Small, family-oriented beach on the Sakonnet River.

  • Easy access to the beach and facilities. Located off Main Road (Route 77), just south of the  Stone Bridge Pier, this small crescent of beach has a restroom facility and a lifeguard in the summer at a designated swimming area.

  • Fishing at adjacent Stone Bridge Pier.

  • Services: Restrooms, food & beverage service (seasonal), sun-shade pavilion.

  • Parking: Space for approximately 50 cars, including 2 handicapped parking spaces.
     

Fogland Beach

  • Gate opens at 9 AM, closes at 10 PM.

  • Larger beach located off Fogland Road/Three Rod Way. 

  • Provides an excellent windsurfing area and beautiful views of the Sakonnet River. Primary use: public beach. Other uses: fishing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, wind-surfing, and kite-surfing.

  • Services: Restrooms, food & beverage vendors (seasonal), playground, picnic tables.
    Note: there are no trash receptacles so please; carry-in . . .carry-out.

  • Parking: Space for approximately 200 cars.
